Crazy for Quinoa - Superfood Spotlight

Quinoa, pronounced (Keen - Wah), is actually not a grain. It belongs to the same family as spinach and beets. The United Nations has labelled it as a "super crop" since they believe it can go a long way to battle world hunger. This is due to its ability to flourish in poor soil without irrigation. Quinoa also gets its superfood status from the numerous health benefits it has to offer.

It has twice as much fiber as the other grains you might already be consuming. Fiber helps lower cholesterol and glucose levels. As a result, it keeps heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes at bay.

Iron is essential for hemoglobin formation, which keeps our red blood cells healthy. It's also essential for supporting brain function. It plays an essential part in delivering oxygenated blood to the brain. Quinoa is legit food for thought. 

 

Packed With Magnesium 

Magnesium helps with relaxing blood vessels, this aids in keeping migraines away. Beyond that, Magnesium plays a key role in reducing the risk of type two diabetes as well as helping the body with detoxification.
